Libertarianz Deputy Leader Dr Richard McGrath today rejected Prime Minister Shipley's advice to parents of Pacific
Island children. "All she could offer them was some rehashed Marxist rubbish," said Dr McGrath. "She implied that people
should have their health care funded by others; she suggested that state education is good for children; she said that
politicians are content to let people decide how to live their own lives, and to raise their children as they see fit.
Yeah, right!"
Mrs Shipley, in a press release on Tuesday then went on to outline how parents should raise their children! "It is
highly inappropriate and offensive for Mrs Shipley to lecture parents," said Dr McGrath. "Indeed, her comments on child
abuse are somewhat bizarre given the dumbing-down programme perpetrated on children in state schools."
Dr McGrath scoffs at the Prime Minister's directive that parents limit their children's consumption of junk food and
salt. "The floorboards of Parliament groan under the weight of such leviathans as Jonathan Hunt, Marian Hobbs and Geoff
Braybrooke, and now Mrs Shipley tells us to watch our dietary intake! The words Pot, Kettle and Black certainly spring
to mind."
Libertarianz - who are standing list candidates at the coming election - view most politicians as dysfunctional losers
who would struggle to survive outside their taxpayer-funded comfort zone. "They are the last people one should ever seek
advice from on these matters," Dr McGrath added. "Libertarianz believes a politician's only frunction is to ensure that
people's basic rights are protected, but otherwise to leave them alone."
