School Strike 4 Climate NZ are back!

May 24th is the next Global School Strike 4 Climate.
In three weeks’ time, youth across New Zealand and the world will rise again and mobilise to save our planet. For the sake of all life on Earth, School Strike 4 Climate NZ demands that our government take urgent action on climate change, right now. It is no longer a matter of wanting to act; they need to. The seriousness of the threat of climate change is incomprehensible. The government’s current pace of action is not good enough. They must make radical policy change to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius. SS4CNZ will not stop mobilising until they do.
People throughout the country can contribute to the action in a variety of ways. Events on Friday 24th of May will vary in different towns and cities. Tree planting, rallies, strikes, community huis and sit-ins outside MPs’ offices will all contribute to New Zealand’s collective response. This multitude of actions gives everyone and anyone a way to get involved. Information about actions will be posted on the SS4CNZ website and Facebook page in the coming weeks.
Governments around the world, including the New Zealand government, have not yet responded adequately to the climate emergency. Youth will not stand for their weakness, apathy, and inaction. SS4CNZ will continue to demand climate justice. Join us.
