Government misses opportunity for a fairer NZ

Published: Wed 17 Apr 2019 02:38 PM
Today’s announcement that the Government will not be supporting a Capital Gains tax is "hugely disappointing" says CTU President Richard Wagstaff.
"Working people need a fairer New Zealand, a place where we can all thrive.
Ensuring that everyone contributes their share is a key part of that. A fairer tax system remains part of the solution in building the country we want New Zealand to be."
"If this Government wants to be taken seriously on making lives better, then they need to make decisions which stop favouring businesses and property owners over working New Zealanders. This is a clear choice which the government has now failed on. We had hoped for better," CTU President Richard Wagstaff said.
