Beneficiaries are encouraged to have their say at the Ngāpuhi Rūnanga Annual General Meeting (AGM) this weekend.
Board Chair, Raniera Tau says “this Saturday we will report to our people on the positive progress, highlights and
achievements of the past year, and complete the voting process for proposed changes to our Trust Deed.”
“It’s important for Ngāpuhi to exercise their right to vote” says Mr Tau “the proposed changes ensure the Rūnanga
continues to be transparent, relevant and fit for purpose today and into the future.”

Postal votes close 5pm this Friday. Beneficiaries can also vote at the AGM this Saturday, with voting registrations open
from 8.30 – 9.45am.

The AGM also welcomes past Ngāpuhi Education Scholarship recipients, Dr Ricky Bell who will present his research
findings on Obesity in Indigenous Populations, and Dr Hinekura Smith who will present her research on the roles of Māori
Women raising children to live as Māori.
The AGM will be held this Saturday 17 November at the Tikipunga Baptist Church in Whangārei. The meeting starts at
10.00am with voting registration open from 8.30am.
