Second nationwide Courts strike across the country

Published: Wed 7 Nov 2018 11:25 AM
Courts will be disrupted for a full half-day today from 12.30pm to 5pm when PSA members at the Ministry of Justice take their second nationwide strike action.
For background on the industrial dispute see https://www.psa.org.nz/media/releases/action-enters-seventh-week/
This action follows the Ministry's failure to win an interim injunction on rolling strikes at the Employment Court in Auckland on Monday. A strong decision was delivered supporting the right of workers to strike.
The Ministry has a history of prolonging industrial bargaining at a mounting cost to the justice system and is under mounting pressure to make a time to return to the bargaining table.
A solidarity event is being held on the lawn outside Parliament from 12.45pm today.
