Union welcomes commitment to bargain over Wellington Bus fiasco - sets date
Wellington Tramways Union media release - 24 July, 2018

Tramways Union has welcomed Tranzit’s agreement to bargain over the Wellington bus dispute and has set a date to meet for negotiations this Friday.

Union Secretary Kevin O’Sullivan says the union wants to settle a fair agreement. “We’ve spent the last year and a half trying to get this sorted for our members and the public. Now Tranzit has agreed to bargain we need to get on with making sure Wellington’s bus service gets back up on its feet as soon as possible.”

The email to Snelgrove sent today follows:

Hi Paul,
I was pleased to see your comment yesterday that Tranzit Group remains open to discussing a possible collective agreement for Tramways Union members employed by Tranzurban.
With that in mind I formally invite you to meet with us this Friday 27th July at 10.00am at Trades Hall 126 Vivian Street, to commence bargaining.
We look forward to see you then.
Cheers.
Kevin O'Sullivan | Secretary
NZ Tramways & Public Passenger Transport Employees Union Wellington Branch [Inc.]
