Wall of Noise protest to shut down Israeli propaganda event
From: Auckland Peace Action
Date: 12 May 2018
Auckland Peace Action is holding a public "Wall of Noise" protest at the 70th Israeli Independence Day on Sunday, 13 May
from 1:30pm (meeting at ANZ Viaduct Events Centre).
"70 years of the Israeli state is not a milestone to celebrate, and we will be shutting it down accordingly," said APA
member Valerie Morse
This day is not a celebration for the Palestinian people. Instead this day is called the "Nakba" - the catastrophe. The
foundation of Israel is built on the ethnic cleansing of 750,000 to 100,000,000 indigenous Palestinians 70 years ago and
turning them into refugees to establish a Jewish-majority state in Palestine. The Nakba is not a crime of the past, it
is ongoing.
Last month over 30 Palestinian civilians were murdered by Israeli snipers.
"Israel is a terrorist state, and people supporting it could be considered terrorist sympathisers under the
anti-terrorism laws" said Ms Morse.
Our plan is to make so much noise that they will be unable to continue with the proceedings.
