Democrats for Social Credit Northcote Candidate

Northcote Candidate Selection Announcement

Democrats for Social Credit Party Leader, Stephnie de Ruyter, today announced that social justice campaigner Tricia Cheel has been selected the Party’s candidate for the Northcote by-election.

Tricia Cheel is a local who understands the issues people in the electorate face every day.

She is well known as a tireless campaigner for social justice and a world as free as possible from waste and toxic pollution.

Tricia has worked hard to protect our natural heritage and was for many years co-ordinator of a community group that managed North Shore City contracts for vegetation control without toxic chemicals.

Tricia regularly speaks out against injustice - poverty, inadequate health care, unaffordable housing, the closure of community police stations - and believes the most vulnerable in our community, especially the elderly and the very young, are entitled to feel safe and secure.

In parliament she will be a strong, courageous, and independent voice - protesting at the lip service paid by other parties to those issues - and she’ll demand real action.

She backs that up with the knowledge that the economic approach of the Democrats for Social Credit Party to getting things done has growing international support.
