Hunger Strike Over
JOINT MEDIA STATEMENT
25 April 2018
For immediate release
Joint statement from Southern Response and Peter & Anne Glasson
Southern Response earthquake claimant Peter Glasson ended his hunger strike on Tuesday evening.
Mr Glasson, his wife Anne, and their lawyer, reached an agreement with Southern Response, that will see their case enter an ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) process, taking it out of the court process.
Peter says he, Anne and their lawyer look forward to resolving the entire issue very soon.
Southern Response CEO Anthony Honeybone says, ”Southern Response is pleased that an agreement setting out the way forward has been reached with the Glassons, and that Mr Glasson has decided to end his hunger
strike. The Residential Advisory Service (RAS) did a fantastic job facilitating the negotiations. RAS was established for this exact situation, to assist and support earthquake claimants through the claims process and any disputes that might arise.”
Southern Response appreciates the outstanding work of Darren Wright, from RAS, in resolving this situation, and also acknowledge the efforts and wider support of Hon. Minister Megan Woods.
