Lottery Grants Board funding to support Tuia – Encounters 250 commemoration

The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) has today announced lottery funding available to projects linked to the Tuia – Encounters 250 commemoration, which marks 250 years since the first onshore meetings between Mâori and Europeans in New Zealand.
$9 million of Lottery Grants Board funding will be invested into initiatives that connect and build understanding of New Zealand’s dual heritage, whakapapa, identity, as well as arts, science, and technology.
The Lottery Tuia – Encounters 250 Programme will open on Wednesday 4 April 2018 and applications will be accepted throughout the year.
