Chief Executives meet with the PSA to discuss Equal Pay

Chief Executives meet with the PSA to discuss Equal Pay

The Public Service Association (PSA) is running a forum for Chief Executives and senior HR staff on Equal Pay from 4:00pm this afternoon at Te Papa Tongarewa, Wellington.

Erin Polaczuk, PSA national secretary, said "The PSA is at the forefront of Equal Pay in Aotearoa - we are one of the three unions behind the Kristine Bartlett case, and are currently pushing for Equal Pay for community mental health support workers, DHB admin and clerical workers, and social workers with more groups to come."

"We stand together with our sister unions, with employers and with the Government in our commitment to achieving equal pay.

"We have the opportunity to share our knowledge and experience, and we are delighted so many chief executives have taken us up on the offer to learn more about how to achieve equal pay in their workplaces.

"This forum is also an opportunity for discussion - it is important for us to know what challenges organisations face, and what resources or support they need to achieving equal pay.

"While we are proud that Equal pay has remained a core goal of the PSA over our 104 year history, we’re looking forward to it being a thing of the past.

"Equal pay for work of equal value is a human right, which I am hopeful we will achieve in New Zealand in the near future," Said Erin Polaczuk.
