British High Commission celebrates International Women's Day with a podcast and a guest High Commissioner
The British High Commisison last night released a very special edition of its "Tea with the High Commission" podcast, featuring Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
The podcast was released to celebrate International Women's Day. In the episode, High Commissioner Laura Clarke talks
candidly with the Prime Minister about gender equality, women in leadership roles and imposter syndrome.
The High Commission is also celebrating International Women's Day by playing host to "High Commissioner for the Day"
Serenity Bruce.
Serenity was the winner of a nationwide video competition to find a passionate young woman between the ages of 17 and
25, to accompany High Commissioner Laura Clarke throughout International Women's Day. Serenity lives in Amberley, and is
a Year 13 student at Rangiora High School.
"This has been a great day to job-share the role of British High Commissioner with Serenity! So many great
conversations, and too much food!" Ms Clarke said
"What amazing day it has been! Words can't describe this experience, what an eye opening look into this world," Ms Bruce
Said.
Serenity and the High Commissioner have attended a number of functions and events to mark the occasion, including a UN
Women's Day Breakfast at Parliament featuring former Prime Minister Helen Clark and a Women Leading Business lunch put
on by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.
