UNA NZ International Women’s Day celebration – 8 March

The United Nations Association of New Zealand (UNA NZ) is partnering with Exhibition Coexistence and QT Museum Hotel for an International Women’s Day (IWD) focused on the empowerment of women in all settings, and the activists who are working relentlessly to claim women’s rights and realise their full potential.

UNA NZ is holding a lunch to celebrate International Women’s Day at 12pm on March 8th at the Hippopotamus Restaurant, QT Museum Hotel. The lunch will include a panel discussion on the UN Theme for IWD 2018: Time is Now: Rural and urban activists transforming women’s lives, followed by a guided tour of the Coexistence International Outdoor exhibition.

The United Nations Association of New Zealand is pleased to collaborate with Coexistence, and shares Coexistence’s message of peace and tolerance around the world. UNA NZ is committed to the ideals embodied in the UN Charter, and if we are serious about achieving the 2015 adopted Sustainable Development Goals, we need to work together to promote women’s rights, equality, safety and justice” said Joy Dunsheath, National President of the UNA NZ.

Exhibition Coexistence aims to promote peace, tolerance and inclusion with people around the world. Created by Museum on the Seam, Jerusalem and curated by Raphie Etgar, the exhibition has toured more than 30 countries and brings together large-scale images on the theme of coexistence. The installation will be open to the public during March at Waitangi Park, Wellington waterfront.
