PSA comment on Zero Carbon Act announcement
The PSA welcomes the announcement by Climate Change Minister James Shaw that progress is being made towards a Zero Carbon Act.
"Climate change will have a profound impact on New Zealand, and PSA members recognise it will fundamentally change the nature of the work they do," PSA National Secretary Glenn Barclay says.
"The PSA supports moving towards a low emissions, climate resilient future - and a just transition for workers as New Zealand moves towards a sustainable economy.
"We particularly note the Minister’s intention to work with unions, and to establish a board of public sector chief executives, focusing on climate change.
"We look forward to working with the government and others on this."
