Barrie Saunders new Chair of Taxpayers' Union
15 DECEMBER 2017
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Barrie Saunders has been welcomed as the new Chairman of the Taxpayers' Union, replacing the organisation's founding Chairman, John Bishop, who has stepped down after four years in the role.
“The Taxpayers’ Union started out as a concept, and four years later has found itself playing a vital role in counterbalancing the hundreds of organisations wanting more government spending," said Mr Saunders. "A large part of the organisation's success is thanks to John's leadership, and guidance. He will certainly be missed."
The Union's Executive Director, Jordan Williams, has also committed to continue in the role for another twelve months.
“With the new Government, the need to champion for the fiscal restraint of taxpayer money may be even greater," said Mr Williams. "Our 28,000 subscribed members and supporters continue to grow, and we expect 2018 to be the busiest year yet."
