PSA comment on Ministry for Primary Industries reorganisation
The PSA notes the Minister for Primary Industries’ statement today about next year’s reorganisation of MPI.
"It is good for our members at MPI to have some answers, and we are glad the Minister has opted not to conduct a full-scale restructure," PSA National Secretary Glenn Barclay says.
"It is also a relief to hear the overall numbers employed by the Ministry will not be reduced.
"We are currently consulting with our members and will seek more information from the Ministry.
"We will expect to have a strong voice in the reorganisation process, particularly around potential relocation of those working in forestry.
"We will also urgently be seeking reassurances that our members will remain employees of MPI on the same terms and conditions."
