Employers Overwhelmingly Call for Overhaul of the Holidays Act 2003
In the lead up to this year's general election, Simpson Grierson has released a report that looks at what are the most significant issues facing our employer clients.
In the survey, conducted in early August 2017, 88% of respondents called for the Government to change and simplify the Holidays Act 2003.
Partner Phillipa Muir says the survey supports Simpson Grierson's view that the Holidays Act needs urgent review.
"It is anachronistic, overly complex and extremely difficult to apply. The overwhelming majority of our employer clients continue to rate this as their number one workplace issue for reform.
"Holiday laws are important for both employers and employees – we urge the Government to simplify the Holidays Act!"
Simpson Grierson wishes to thank all of those who took part in the survey.
