Thank you for your long service, Peter.
As The Opportunities Party Ōhāriu candidate, and a long-standing Ōhāriu local, I would like to thank Peter Dunne for
being the local MP for 33 years. I’d also like to thank him for moving aside and recognising that it is time for a
change.
Greg O’Connor might think that Jacinda Adern’s popularity will help him to waltz into parliament. As another
youth-adjacent woman I would like to disabuse him of this notion.
Countless people have told me that they felt they had to vote for Greg in order to oust Peter Dunne. I’m pleased that
now my community is able to vote for a person who shares their values and a party that has policies that promise real
change.
I want a better future for my community, and for my country. I want my children, and all of our children, to have every
opportunity to grow up in a country that is fair, prosperous and vibrant, with clean rivers and a stable,
life-sustaining climate.
Ōhāriu has been fortunate to have an MP who is a real local, with an independent voice, who has worked with both major
parties over the years. My community has a chance to have a local, independent voice again.
I am proud to be part of a party that can make real change for my community and for my country.
Bring it on Greg.
