New Zealand First Announces Tauranga, Rotorua, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and East Coast Candidates
CLAYTON MITCHELL MP TO CONTEST TAURANGA FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST AGAIN
Tauranga-based list MP and businessman, Clayton Mitchell, will again contest the Tauranga seat for New Zealand First at this year’s general election
Mr Mitchell, who has a long career in the hospitality industry, was elected as part of the New Zealand First List in 2014. He holds the spokespersons roles for Internal Affairs, Sport and Recreation, Conservation, Labour and Industrial Relations. He is the Associate Whip for the Party,
Mr Mitchell has an extensive involvement in community affairs. He served as a councillor on the Tauranga City Council and has a long history in martial arts. He is a judo and boxing coach, and has served on the governing bodies of sporting and community organisations.
“Clayton Mitchell has been an outstanding Member of Parliament,” the Leader of New Zealand First and Northland MP, the Rt Hon Winston Peters said today.
“He has approached all of his roles with real vigour and enthusiasm, has advocated very effectively for his community, and has won the respect of all parties in the House,” he said.
FLETCHER TABUTEAU MP TO BE NEW ZEALAND FIRST CANDIDATE IN ROTORUA IN 2017
List MP Fletcher Tabuteau has again been selected to contest the Rotorua seat for New Zealand First in the forthcoming general election.
Mr Tabuteau, who entered Parliament in 2014 on the New Zealand First List is based in Rotorua. He is a graduate of Waikato University (Bachelor of Management Studies and Graduate Diploma Secondary Education) and the Waiariki Institute of Technology (Diploma in Business Technology). He is part way toward completion of a Master of Applied Management from Waikato.
Before entering Parliament Mr Tabuteau was Head of the Business School at the Waiariki Institute of Technology
New Zealand First Leader and Northland MP Rt Hon Winston Peters said: “Fletcher Tabuteau has made a major contribution in Parliament since 2014. His thoughtful and knowledgeable insights and commentary on the true economic situation facing New Zealand have been invaluable.”
“He has been and will continue to be a major force in the engine room of political and economic debate in this country,” he said.
NEW ZEALAND FIRST’S COROMANDEL CANDIDATE ANNOUNCED: ANNE-MARIE ANDREWS TO CONTEST THE SEAT
Anne-Marie Andrews was today announced as New Zealand First’s candidate for the Coromandel electorate.
A home builder and joint owner of investment and import companies Ms Andrews is a forthright advocate of strong community values.
Ms Andrews has engaged in mentoring, counselling and facilitation activities and is a previous Regional Manager for Parents Inc.
“Anne- Marie Andrews brings to New Zealand First a strong faith based world perspective that will serve the community well,” said the Leader of New Zealand First and Northland MP, Rt Hon Winston Peters today.
“Her unwavering principles and her full commitment to all that she undertakes will make her a force to be reckoned with during the campaign,” he said.
LESTER GRAY TO CONTEST BAY OF PLENTY SEAT FOR NEW ZEALAND FIRST
Bay of Plenty businessman, Lester Gray, has been selected to be the Bay of Plenty candidate for New Zealand First in the September General Election.
The owner and operator of service stations throughout the Bay of Plenty Mr Gray is a very experienced business leader with a record of success within the petroleum and convenience retail sectors.
He is strongly committed to the principles and policies of New Zealand First which he believes are those needed to ensure the interests of New Zealand and New Zealanders are looked after.
“Lester Gray brings a high degree of business acumen and organisational expertise to New Zealand First’s campaign,” the Leader of New Zealand First and Northland MP, the Rt Hon Winston Peters said today.
“His tireless energy, empathy with the region and commitment to addressing the real needs of the Bay of Plenty will be evident throughout this campaign,” said Mr Peters.
JULIAN TILLEY NEW ZEALAND FIRST’S EAST COAST CANDIDATE
The Leader of New Zealand First and Northland MP, the Rt Hon Winston Peters today announced that Julian Tilley of Gisborne would be the New Zealand First candidate for East Coast in this year’s general election.
Mr Tilley is the Bay of Plenty/East Coast Sales Manager for a leading diversified petroleum distribution company. He also has a strong background in ICT having previously worked in that industry both in New Zealand and overseas.
“Julian Tilley is a candidate with drive and real enthusiasm for the East Coast.
“His articulate advocacy and clear passion for the electorate mean that he will be a worthy candidate in East Coast,” Mr Peters said.
