Honourable or Dishonourable?
Honourable or Dishonourable?
Co Leader of the Green Party Metiria Turei’s comment that she would not stand down as an MP and she would not accept a cabinet post if Labour and the Greens form the next Government was an insult to the people of New Zealand.
Turei a self-confessed liar and a fraudster is not fit to hold any office in government let alone that of a Cabinet Minister. Jacinta Ardern the new Labour leader announced that she would not be offering Ms Turei any cabinet position if she was the next Prime Minister.
At least two of the Green Party caucus have a conscience, Kennedy Graham and David Clendon opting to resign rather than condone Fraud, however the Green Party’s continued support of Ms Turei as co-leader is paramount to telling everyone that fraud is acceptable.
We the voting public of New Zealand should send the Greens a strong message this election that Fraud by anyone is not acceptable and should do so by not casting our vote for the Green Party.
Metiria Turei’s refusal to step down brings the reputation of every MP and our Government into disrepute around the world and should not be tolerated.
NZSP believe that the only honourable thing Ms Turei should do is to stand down as co-leader of the Green Party and leave parliament immediately. Her continued refusal to do so will have severe repercussions for the Green Party and the number of votes they receive at this year’s election.
