Statement from the Deputy Controller and Auditor-General
I acknowledge Martin Matthews’ decision to resign from the role of Controller and Auditor-General. On behalf of the Office, I thank Martin for the positive contribution he made to the Office during his short time in the role.
I also want to thank my staff for their continued hard work. It has been a challenging time for all concerned.
Our Office has an important role, and our focus is on continuing to fulfil that role while Parliament carries out the necessary process to appoint a new Auditor-General.
I will be making no further comment at this time.
