Support for SST increases exponentially

The Sensible Sentencing Trust says the response to its latest Newsletter has been phenomenal. Trust Founder, Garth McVicar said that the Newsletter headline article on the demise of the family seemed to have been the catalyst for the increased support.
“Judging by the response to this article I would say that a political party that has the courage to make a policy statement on incentivising and re-inventing the family would be a vote winner.”
The article that appeared in the SST Newsletter:
The REAL moral and fiscal failure – is the demise of the NATURAL Family
The Prime Minister Bill English is on
record as saying that prisons are a ‘moral and fiscal failure’. The then
deputy PM made the statement at a Families Commission forum
in 2011.
At the same forum the Prime Minister also said
‘it would be good if we could have less young people
coming into the prison pipeline’.
The Prime
Minister either failed to mention – or chose to ignore –
the fact that New Zealand has such a high prison population
is that successive Governments – including this National
Govt – have been instrumental in the demise of the one
essential and basic ingredient of a safe, patriotic and
prosperous society – Mum and Dad –
‘Family’.
As the Family has
been decimated the environment for crime has flourished with
an ever-growing cesspool of unwanted, unloved, lawless
delinquents to ensure the pipeline to prison works at
an ever increasing capacity.
