Hilary Humphrey selected as Labour’s 2017 candidate for Taranaki King Country
Hilary Humphrey has been selected as the Labour Party candidate for Taranaki King Country for the 2017 General Election.
“I look forward to campaigning in Taranaki King Country on the issues that matter locally - transport, decent housing, health and education,” said Hilary Humphrey.
‘I’m proud of my 'Naki roots, having been born in Inglewood and retaining strong connections throughout the electorate ever since.”
“This will be a tough challenge but I’m looking forward to focusing my efforts on a strong party vote campaign for Labour so we can change the government in September,” said Hilary Humphrey.
Hilary's professional career has been spent working in community and economic development, with experience in not-for-profit management, economic strategy and project management, early childhood education and governance.
She's married to Geoff - who comes from a long line of sheep farmers - and together they have four children aged 3-12.
Labour’s President, Nigel Haworth, said: “Hilary joins our growing list of energetic and fresh candidates standing for Labour in 2017. Our focus is on electing a strong, Labour-led government in September that will rise to the challenge, back the Kiwi Dream and build a better New Zealand.”
