Maniapoto mandate endorsed
Maniapoto Māori Trust Board chairman, Tiwha Bell is pleased to announce that the Crown has recognised the Board’s deed of mandate to represent Maniapoto in treaty settlement negotiations.
“This is a positive step and while there is much work to be done, keeping our people updated regularly continues to be a priority” states Bell.
“Now that mandate has been confirmed, it is important to keep moving to the next milestone which is the appointment of negotiators. I encourage those who are yet to apply to submit their applications by midday Friday 16th December, and anticipate announcing those appointed next week.
We are committed to working together with all of Maniapoto, kotahitanga is paramount in moving forward so we can get the best possible outcome for our people.”
