Submission period extended for TTRL
The period for public submissions on Trans-Tasman Resources Limited’s (TTRL) application for consents to mine iron sand in the South Taranaki Bight has been extended until 5pm, Monday 12 December 2016.
The extension follows an Environment Court decision on 8 November 2016 to cancel the Decision-making Committee (DMC) direction in relation to communication of some information within TTRL’s application. Full versions of the application documents are now available on the EPA website.
Accordingly, the DMC has extended the submission period for 20 working days to enable submitters time to re-examine the application documents.
The dates for the processes leading up to the start of the hearing will be confirmed by the DMC in the near future when the hearing procedures are finalised.
Submissions already received by the EPA will still be valid. Those who have already made submissions can update or replace their original submission.
Further information on the application process, Q and As, and making a submission is available on the Environmental Protection Authority’s website.
