Wairoa iwi and hapū elect Initial Trustees for Post-Settlement Governance Entity

The Initial Trustees to represent the iwi and hapū of Te Rohe o Te Wairoa on their Post-Settlement Governance Entity (PSGE), Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust, have been announced today.

The following people are declared to be the Initial Trustees for the Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust:

Te Wairoa Tāpokorau 1 KāhuiAs Oha MANUEL was the only nominated candidate for this kāhui, no election was required.As Darren BEATTY was the only nominated candidate for this kāhui, no election was required.

The voter return was 53.12%, being 1,918 votes cast from 3,611 eligible electors, of which 55.53% voted via the internet and 44.47% voted by post.

Te Tira Whakaemi o Te Wairoa, is the Trust currently mandated to represent the iwi and hapū of Te Rohe o Te Wairoa. Initial Trustees of Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust will sign the Deed of Settlement with the Crown on November 25 and 26, 2016.

The ceremony will be held at the Takitimu Marae, in Wairoa, and all whānau who whakapapa to the iwi and hapū of Te Rohe o Te Wairoa are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
