MSD and Oranga Tamariki structural changes "make sense"
The Public Service Association Te Pūkenga Here Tikanga Mahi says there are few surprises in the proposed structures for
the new children’s ministry Oranga Tamariki.
The PSA understands some jobs are proposed to be disestablished, but a greater number of new roles created across the
new ministry and the Ministry of Social Development.
"At first glance, we believe these structural changes make sense - and will not have a great impact on most of our
members at the existing MSD," Mr Barclay says.
"We understand that most employees at site manager level and below will not experience a great deal of change, although
at management level there may be more upheaval."
The PSA is talking to members who would be affected by the proposed changes if they go ahead in their current form, and
plans to be closely involved in the consultation.
"We have already held discussions with chief executive Gráinne Moss, and we look forward to a good working relationship
with her and her team," Mr Barclay says.
