Virginia Andersen selected as Labour’s 2017 candidate in the Hutt South electorate

Virginia Andersen has been selected as the Hutt South Labour Party candidate in the 2017 General Election.

“I am proud to be Labour’s Hutt South candidate for the 2017 election and I look forward to carrying on the good work of Trevor Mallard in the electorate,” said Virginia Andersen.

“Hutt South is made up of strong communities and I will be working hard to to make sure those voices are heard loud and clear. Kiwis deserve a fair go and they are not getting it under this National government."

Hutt South MP, Trevor Mallard, said “Ginny will make an excellent local MP. She’s hard working and knows our community well”.

Labour General Secretary, Andrew Kirton, said: “Ginny joins our growing list of energetic, fresh candidates who will stand for Labour in 2017. Our focus is on electing a strong, Labour-led government next year that will back the Kiwi Dream and help every New Zealander get ahead.”
