MBIE pays tribute to former CTU president Helen Kelly

Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment Chief Executive David Smol has paid tribute to former CTU president Helen Kelly for her courage and dedication to improving the welfare of New Zealand workers.

“Helen Kelly was an incredible advocate for workers throughout her life – always courageous and willing to stand up for people. Her contributions to improving employment and health and safety law have made a real impact and she has left a lasting legacy.

“On behalf of everyone who has worked with Helen here at MBIE, I express my condolences to Helen’s family and her colleagues in the union movement at this sad time,” Mr Smol said.
