Success for candidates who stand for jobs that count
The success of Jobs that Count-endorsed candidates around the country shows how strongly New Zealanders believe in good jobs and a clean environment, says Helen Kelly, campaign organiser.
“This weekend New Zealanders elected Mayors and Councillors in urban centres and the regions who pledged to make life better for working Kiwis and their families.”
“That’s a great result for our communities.”
“While some candidates didn’t make it across the line, they’ll keep pushing for the things that matter to our people and towns in other ways.”
“Jobs that Count is about putting the community first, supporting good jobs and a sustainable environment, and standing together through unions to get there.”
“The results show how important these values are to all New Zealanders.”
“On behalf of the Jobs that Count campaign I congratulate all of our candidates. Whether they won or not, they’ve taken an important stand for the rights of working people, and together we will continue to do so.”
