Hamilton City Council preliminary elections results
The 2016 Hamilton City Council preliminary elections results indicate Andrew King been provisionally elected as Hamilton’s new Mayor by 14 votes.
Andrew King received 8676 votes, Paula Southgate received 8662 and Chris Simpson received 6331 votes.
The following councillors have been provisionally elected.
West Ward councillors:
• Martin Gallagher (8600)
• Angela O’Leary (7409)
• Dave MacPherson (7314)
• Leo Tooman (6774)
• Geoff Taylor (5265)
• Siggi Henry (5246)
East Ward councillors:
• Paula Southgate (9322)
• Rob Pascoe (6611)
• James Casson (6239)
• Phillip Yeung (5962)
• Garry Mallet (5226)
• Mark Bunting (5170)
The final results will include all valid special votes and will be released onThursday 13 October. Once the final results are available on 13 October, a candidate may request a recount of the voting numbers if the vote is close.
