K Gurunathan elected Mayor of Kāpiti Coast District

8 OCTOBER 2016


Preliminary election results show K Gurunathan has been elected Mayor of the Kāpiti Coast District for the 2016-2019 triennium.


He is elected ahead of next highest polling candidates Ross Church and Gavin Welsh.


The preliminary results show a voter turnout of 18,295 - 47.26 percent of eligible voters.


The following candidates are elected to the Council:

Ōtaki James Cootes (elected unopposed)
Waikanae Michael Scott
Paraparaumu Mark Benton
Fiona Vining
Paekākāriki-Raumati Janet Holborow
Districtwide Angela Buswell
Districtwide Mike Cardiff
Districtwide Jackie Elliott
Districtwide John Howson
Districtwide David Scott

The membership of the Kāpiti Coast’s four community boards is:
