DSC on Syria
Horror at the inhumane Syrian bombing prompts Canterbury
DSC (Democrats for Social Credit) to promote Armed
Neutrality as a better, more effective leadership path for
NZ. Whatever side you look at, history shows that a clean
pair of hands are hard to find and ANZUS should be
dumped!
DSC Defence Spokesperson Cmdr Richard Ryan opined, "Of all the atrocities in Syria’s five year civil war, the worst is surely the horrendous air strikes on the hapless civilian population of Aleppo. This escalation comes hard on the heels of New Zealand’s chairing of the United Nations Security Council, including outspoken rhetoric from our Prime Minister, against the violence.
One of the main reasons for our complete lack of success, must surely be our close links, with the ANZUS relationship, with one of the permanent members of the Council, always eager to cast aspersions, at the perpetrator of this war crime and fellow permanent member.
How much more effective our voice would be in this world forum, if we were an armed neutral, speaking without fear, favour or vested interest.
It is
surely time and past, to seriously reconsider our irrational
and counterproductive affiliations in ANZUS that has the
potential to draw us into conflicts that are not of our
making but may well be an unprincipled foreign policy of the
United States.
