UnitedFuture Supported Government Gives More Back to New Zealand

UnitedFuture is giving more back to New Zealanders as Budget measures begin to take effect.

From tomorrow, more New Zealand families will benefit with paid parental leave payments are increasing by more than $10 a week.

UnitedFuture will continue to advocate for an extension of paid parental leave in order to give our new-born children the best start in life.

Vulnerable New Zealander’s will have more opportunities with emergency housing grants become available, which will support individuals and families with the cost of emergency housing for up to seven days.

Moreover, rental standards will be increased with smoke alarms and insulation becoming compulsory in all rental properties.

UnitedFuture will continue to work for policy that provides better opportunities to those in need, especially in regards to developing a plan for housing.

The policy taking effect tomorrow improves the lives of many New Zealanders.

In Government, UnitedFuture will continue to advocate for fairness, choice and opportunity to build upon this work.
