Visiting Members of Congress
A U.S. congressional delegation, including two members of the United States House of Representatives, is visiting New
Zealand this week. Representative Matt Salmon of Arizona is the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on
Asia and the Pacific, and Representative Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming is a member of the House Oversight and Government
Reform Committee.
The members of Congress are in New Zealand to gain first-hand perspectives on the positive state of the bilateral
relationship, and to discuss a wide range of important regional issues of mutual interest to include the Trans Pacific
Partnership and bilateral trade, as well as strategic issues. The Representatives have a full and diverse program of
meetings with Ministers and other members of Parliament and briefings from academics, government officials, and
business, civic, and agricultural sector leaders.
