Substance Addiction (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Bill
Have your say on the Substance Addiction (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Bill. This bill will replace the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Act 1966, and will enable people who are considered to have a severe substance addiction and do not have the capacity to participate in treatment, to receive compulsory assessment and treatment.
A copy of the bill can be viewed online here at http://www.legislation.govt.nz/. The closing date for submissions is Wednesday, 27 April 2016.
Submissions should be forwarded by the due date, either online here using our website (http://www.parliament.nz) or in writing to the address below.
