1500 Concerned Citizens of Christchurch, New Zealand Attended the Anti-TPPA Rally
A large crowd of at least 1500 came to Christchurch's Cathedral Square today, Sat January 30, 2016, to mourn the death of Democracy if the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement is implemented.
The whole crowd mourned as the coffin containing Democracy was taken from the hearse and put on the stage and a eulogy was performed.
The whole crowd raged as Prime Minister John Key [puppet], dressed as an American puppet, kicked Democracy into it's grave accompanied by Salmonella Dub's about to be released new song, Jonkey's.
The whole crowd revelled as the Its Our Future Christchurch team arrived with oxygen and a blood transfusion and resurrected Democracy.
We heard today that it is virtually impossible for the United States to ratify the treaty as most of Congress and all the leading presidential candidates are opposed to it. Without the US, the treaty cannot be implemented.
We heard today that the expert analyses of the first 5 chapters proves the government has lied about the benefits to New Zealand and has covered up the enormous costs to our country.
We heard today that John Key plans on introducing this year the law changes the U.S. corporations are demanding even though the TPPA could not be implemented within two years even if Congress miraculously has a change of mind. So our government is giving the corporations what they want even though there is no requirement to do so.
We heard today that the law changes that the US corporations want will have to go through the full parliamentary process including select committees so we can fight this wholesale sellout to the corporations in Parliament.
We heard today the tremendous support from the concerned people of Christchurch for the next stage of our very winnable battle.
