Government slammed for departments serious ignorance!

Government slammed for departments serious ignorance!
9 December 2015

“The time has come for questions to be asked of the government, as to just what is going on in the justice department & can it please explain to New Zealand the reasoning behind some of the ludicrous ,reckless, callous decisions that judges are making!"

2015 will go down as one of the darkest years in New Zealand’s criminal history. This year alone has seen the lives of 13 innocent children die at the hands of people they either knew or trusted to care for them & our judicial system just seems to take it in its stride as just another number!!

The government campaigned strongly in the 2008 election on law & order & in all fairness has made some good changes, but seriously some of the decisions we are seeing come out of the courts don’t even come close to their campaign policies!

This year alone, 3 adults have been charged with murdering children in their care, but all 3 are able to spend Christmas at home with their families & enjoy the festivities. What about the victims of these horrendous crimes? How many presents do they get to unwrap? How many fun filled family days do they get to spend with their loved ones? None!

Gracie McSorley, Ihaka Stokes & little Leon Jayet-Cole all died while in the care of their care givers. All 3 of these innocent children suffered serious assault type injuries, some even equivalent to those normally sustained in a car accident, & police laid the appropriate charges but somehow 3 High Court Judges have released the 3 accused back into society to do what they please.

Sensible Sentencing Trust’s Manawatu Spokesperson Scott Guthrie is asking the government to please explain how New Zealand can have faith in the justice system & feel safe & protected by the laws of this land, when our judges are making such radical out of touch decisions without any rational explanation. The reason a person is released on bail should be & is legally allowed to be public knowledge. So inline with section 9 A (3) of the Bail Act 2000 how about we the public are told the reasons these murder accused are being released back into our community.

Judges are the pillars of our community & enforce the laws made for everyone & all we ask as a community is that New Zealand as a whole starts seeing some common sense decisions coming out of our courts & less of the offender rights rubbish we are currently seeing.
