Governor-General statement on terrorist attacks in Paris

Statement from the Governor-General regarding the terrorist attacks in Paris


The Governor-General, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae said that the impact of the terrorist attacks on innocent civilians in Paris is being felt all around the world. He said “The close historic and cultural ties between France and New Zealand mean that New Zealanders are particularly shocked and saddened by these brutal and callous acts”.

The Governor-General said “On behalf of all New Zealanders, I express our solidarity with our friends in France and send our condolences to the families and friends of those who perished. Our thoughts are with them in the difficult days ahead.”
