Spark to credit cost of calls to France

Spark will credit its customers for the cost of landline and mobile calls and texts to France following Friday night’s horrific attacks in Paris.

Spark CEO for Home, Mobile and Business Jason Paris said: “Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the people of France, and to French citizens living in New Zealand. We know many people will need to stay in close contact with friends and family in France over the next few days and we hope it will help in some small way to not have to worry about their phone bill at the end of the month.”

The credit will apply to direct dial calls (00 and 0161) and texts, made from New Zealand home phones or mobile phones, to France from 9.30am (NZT) Saturday 14 November until midnight Thursday 19 November.

The credits will be retrospectively applied to customers’ accounts in either their November or December bills, depending on their bill cycle – so customers do not need to do anything.
