Official Statement - Super League Darts
An article was published on the stuff website this morning with the headline "Businesses say they are owed thousands after darts events".
On behalf of Super League Darts, and it's key people, I would like to confirm that we are in no way related to the darts event mentioned in this article.
Super League Darts was a hugely successful Tournament and all suppliers, players and related parties have been paid.
DartsKing Australasia was an exhibition tour, featuring Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis, and run completely independent of Super League Darts. Super League Darts also runs independent of Dartplayers Australia and Dart Players New Zealand, who were two of the key parties involved with Dartsking.
It's hugely disappointing for those involved with DartsKing Australasia that many bills remain outstanding. Events of this nature have a large degree of risk and it appears that the promoters undertook this tour without sufficient financial backing.
Super League Darts is a national sporting competition that is backed by private investment. Over the last two years we have left no unpaid bills and pride ourselves on being professional and trustworthy.
In 2016, Super League Darts will further expand and solidify it's position as one of the premier events on the New Zealand sporting calendar. We again look forward to delivering a successful Tournament that fans across New Zealand can enjoy.
