Maori women support of Chris Brown a disgrace
The Sensible Sentencing Trust has slammed a group of prominent Maori women for their support of convicted woman abuser
and R star Chris Brown.
Founder of SST Garth McVicar said he was astounded that any women would support a man convicted of violently assaulting
another person let alone another woman.
“This defies the imagination!" said McVicar
"New Zealand has an appalling level of child abuse and domestic violence and and a group of women from a race that is
prominent in those statistics is supporting a man who makes a living out of singing about abusing women.”
“One look at some of the lyrics of his songs is conclusive evidence that Brown is obviously not a reformed man.”
McVicar says the lyrics of Brown’s latest album “Fan Of A Fan: The Album” performed with rapper Tyga are all the
evidence needed to ban Brown from coming to New Zealand.
•< > known to keep my bi*ches on a leash nigga’ (Bi*ches N Marijuana); ‘Ho, shut the fu*k up’ (I Bet)
•
• ‘Make her lift her skirt up, if she nervous I’m a pervert/I be in the pus*y deep, a nigga fu*kin’ up her cervex’
(I Bet)
•
•< >y nigga tryna fu*k my bi*ch/Then its off with his head’ (Remember Me)‘she cook and clean and I got it made/Handcuff
like she a slave’ (Remember Me)
•
• ‘I need you on all fours/Now a*s up, face down… I got the camera recordin’’ (Lights Out)
•
• ‘I’mma take her a*s down when she bring her friend around/Fu*k ‘em both’ (Ayo)
•
• ‘I’m the man with these bi*ches, if you watchin’, pay attention/You shoulda left her in the kitchen’ (She Goin’
Up)

McVicar said Brown could say he is sorry and feign remorse all he likes but the simple fact that he is still singing
about abusing women is all the evidence needed to say we don’t need his sort in this country.”
“Dame Tariana Turia’s comments that Brown’s lyrics “was the way that young people of today spoke” shows the enormity of
the problem in this country. For anyone, let alone a prominent Maori leader to support a man who has been convicted of
violence against women and continues to sing about such acts is absolutely ludicrous.”
“New Zealand has enough problems and we certainly don’t need Chris Brown! Our call is for the Minister of Immigration to
stamp his special visa application with a big X! ENDS
