Your say on ACC levies starts today
ACC launches the annual levy consultation process today, and for the first time features a website - www.shapeyouracc.co.nz – where people can submit their own ideas and discuss ideas put forward by others.
Chair Paula Rebstock says this is a tremendous opportunity for all New Zealanders to have their say.
“I would encourage everyone to take this opportunity to put forward their views on what they would like to see and share their ideas and feedback on ACC’s proposals for the 2016/17 financial year.”
Ms Rebstock says the ACC Board is proposing levy reductions of $171 million to Work levies, $61 million to Earners’ levies and $218 million to Motor Vehicle levies.
“We want to hear what New Zealanders think about these proposals.
“The exciting thing for people making submissions through the new website – www.shapeyouracc.co.nz – is that they will also be able to read, like and comment on ideas and questions raised by other submitters. We’re hoping this will lead to some great discussions”.
ACC runs public consultation on levies every year before it makes final recommendations to the Government on what levies should be for the following financial year.
The public consultation period runs for the month of October and closes at 5pm on 30 October 2015.
