PM Accepts Flag Change Challenge From More FM Host Simon Barnett
The Prime Minister will have six minutes to make his case for a change of the New Zealand flag live on More FM’s breakfast show on Thursday at 7.40am.
Talking to MORE FM breakfast host Simon Barnett on air last Thursday (30 July), John Key claimed that, in under six minutes, he is confident that he can convince most people it is time for a new flag.
Mr Key told breakfast hosts Simon and Gary McCormick that when 85 to 90 per cent of people who are against the change hear his prepared speech on the issue, they are no longer opposed to a different New Zealand flag.
“The proof is in the pudding,” says Simon Barnett. “I believe that Kiwis want the flag to stay exactly as it is. Furthermore, $26 million is being wasted as the Prime Minister pushes for this change.”
Can the Prime Minister convince Simon that it’s time for a change? Listen this Thursday at 7.40am on More FM.
