Online visas will help boost tourism
Auckland Airport has welcomed today’s announcement by the Government that it will roll out online work and visitor visas.
Charles Spillane, Auckland Airport’s general manager corporate affairs, says, “This is a significant development for New Zealand’s tourism industry. Attracting international tourists is an increasingly competitive business. We need our visa process to be as simple and as easy as possible for tourists. Today’s announcement will help make our country an even more appealing destination for overseas visitors.”
“We are especially pleased that Chinese visitors can now apply for visitor visas online using a Chinese language form. In recent years China has become one of our most significant markets for tourists. The new form will make it even easier to grow the number of Chinese visitors, and that is a great thing for our economy and for everyone involved in the tourism industry.”
