Human Rights begin at home - Louise Nicholas ANZAC of the Year

The Human Rights Commission has congratulated New Zealand’s 2015 ANZAC of the Year, Louise Nicholas.

“Louise Nicholas’ fight for human rights is one she fought on behalf of all New Zealanders. All of us are indebted to Louise’s staggering courage and refusal to accept injustice,” said Human Rights Commissioner Dr Jackie Blue.

“Human rights begin at home, they’re not just found in documents far away at the United nations. They must live in our homes, our communities and our lives."

Ms Nicholas was presented with her award at a function held at Government House last night.
