Accessible Properties committed to Social Housing
Accessible Properties remains committed to pursuing the purchase of housing from the New Zealand Government.
Accessible Properties is an approved Community Housing Provider that already provides housing on a large scale throughout the country.
The company was established with a focus on providing housing to people with disabilities, but the scope has now been extended to the wider community and tenants include people who qualify for the Government’s Income Related Rent Subsidy programme.
“We all know there is great demand for good quality affordable housing in New Zealand,” says Accessible Properties Chair Paul Adams. “By the end of 2015 we will have built nearly 200 new homes, but that’s not nearly enough to meet demand.”
“We operate on a large scale and can therefore look at all the options to make this work”, says Paul Adams. “We’ll keep talking to the Government and to the private sector in our commitment to help people in need into good quality homes.”

To date, 108 homes have been completed, and 192 homes will result by end of 2015 – with a market value of $70 million.
