#WagePeaceNZ Demands NZ Invade Mexico for Guacamole Reserves Instead

#WagePeaceNZ, founded yesterday, along with all 7 of its Twitter followers, demands that New Zealand invade Mexico for its Guacamole reserves in lieu of sending 143 troops to Iraq.

Being a one-day old ‘peace’ movement, the demand will be presented to the Prime Minister in icing sugar written atop a mole-chocolate vegan cake.

#WagePeaceNZ founder, columnist Tracey Barnett, now encouraged by this deluge of nationwide support, commented, “I just like Mexican food better.”

#WagePeaceNZ has a multitude of ideas for alternatives to troop engagement that should leave other Club Members equally sated.

Indeed, their one-day old website’s shiny new tagline is, “Why not build the lives that war destroys. Double refugee support, double NZ’s refugee quota.”

As a newly born ‘movement’, #WagePeaceNZ was confused about whether they fit into the Prime Minister’s ‘right side’ of not. #WagePeaceNZ’s suggestion of a third, more sane, humane path that suits a small, respectful country like New Zealand, left #WagePeaceNZ’s extensive media relations team in a conundrum.

“Uh-oh. What if we have another, you know, third idea? Maybe waging peace by supporting more refugees suits New Zealand’s abilities and sensibilities perfectly. Why not build the lives that war destroys instead?” said Tracey Barnett, repeating the tag line because she couldn’t think of much else to say.

#WagePeaceNZ’s current focus will be to double NZ’s refugee quota, double our refugee funding, and to lobby Kiwi leaders to unequivocally speak out against Australia’s disastrously inhumane offshore detention prisons, reassuring New Zealanders we will also have no part of it in future either.

#WagePeaceNZ encourages everyone to ‘like’ our Facebook page where news and issues advocating for refugees and asylum seekers in New Zealand and the region will be posted. #WagePeaceNZ further advocates to go easy on the guacamole until further troop funding is confirmed.
