Maori Party Focus On 2017

President Naida Glavish has announced that the Māori Party will not be fielding a candidate in the upcoming Northland by-election.

“We are instead focusing our energies on reinvigorating our party capacity throughout the country in preparation for our campaign for the 2017 national elections,” says Glavish.

“This decision is supported by our Te Tai Tokerau membership and electorate committee who are closely connected to what is important to their community.”

“We wish all candidates the best and encourage the successor to work with the only independent Māori party in Government to seek solutions to the many challenges facing Te Tai Tokerau.”
