EPMU congratulates new Labour leader
The Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union congratulates Andrew Little on his election as Leader of the New Zealand Labour Party.
“I have worked closely with Andrew and know he will be a strong and successful leader,” says Bill Newson, who succeeded Andrew Little as EPMU national secretary.
“Our National Executive unanimously endorsed Andrew because of his experience, ability, and dedication to the rights of working New Zealanders.
“All of the candidates were highly qualified and passionate about Labour values. It’s encouraging that there’s such a depth of talent for the new leader to draw on. Now is time for the Labour Party and the wider labour movement to unite and get back into a strong position to hold the government to account and ultimately win in 2017.”
The EPMU is the largest union affiliated to the Labour Party.
